Leadership Greater Hartford helps people achieve their potential, whether a corporate executive or a teenager, a nonprofit manager or a retiree.  Our mission is to develop, connect and inspire diverse leaders to build strong and vibrant communities throughout Greater Hartford.

Leadership Greater Hartford programs provide experiential learning through workshops, tours and hands-on team projects.  Program participants grow personally and obtain new skills while exploring key issues impacting the Greater Hartford community. We have had a long-lasting and significant effect on our region having developed leadership skills in over 5,000 teens, employees, executives, and retirees.  We bring disparate sectors together in projects, events and discussions to address community concerns.

The unique combination of personal and professional development found in Leadership Greater Hartford programs empowers people to be effective leaders at work, school, in the community, and in all aspects of life.  Custom training programs can also bring this uniquely powerful approach to an organization.

Participants become aware of their own capabilities and skilled at understanding others.  They learn about issues and how to work collaboratively. They participate in the community and take on meaningful leadership roles.

Employers benefit as employees gain experience and confidence in working with diverse teams to accomplish challenging goals.  Leadership Greater Hartford connects people to the community in a unique way, helping retain valuable employees.

The community gains a growing corps of dedicated leaders who bridge political, economic, racial, and geographic differences.  They help others understand that the city and suburbs are interdependent and share a common future.  Class projects lead to visible and sustainable community improvement.  Our graduates perform volunteer work, run for office, serve on nonprofit boards, and mentor future leaders.
