A Recap of Our Best Practices Event - 05/23/2012

THANK YOU to our many members and partners who joined us last week for a wonderful day of networking and knowledge-sharing!

On May 16th, 2012, nearly 200 people gathered at the Farmington Marriott for TANGO's second annual Connecticut Best Practices for Nonprofits program. By all measures, this event was a great success. We offered nearly twelve hours of educational programming in a day focused on the success of nonprofit organizations. Our morning was devoted to Financial Services / HR and general business practices while our afternoon focused on development and marketing.

Our luncheon keynote broke new ground by offering our attendees a preview of the Connecticut Nonprofit Strategy Platform. This on-line tool is in the final stages of development by the University of Connecticut and Connecticut Data Collaborative in partnership with the Urban Institute. When complete, it will be a free resource for nonprofits to use when making business decisions regarding economic and geographic conditions in CT.

Overall, the event had great energy and we were thrilled to see such a diverse group of organizations come together to collaborate and learn from each other, while hearing from experts in several areas of professional need. We look forward to continuing this dialogue into future learning opportunities and hope to see you all soon!

We never stand still here at TANGO, and we're in the process of planning the Best Practices event outside of Boston this coming September 27th. Look for more on that this summer.
